Mortgage Insurance
CBC "The Marketplace" Mortgage Insurance Special Report
What is Mortgage Insurance?
Mortgage Insurance is insurance against your mortgage. It is coverage for your mortgage so that in the event of death your house will be paid for, seperate from and therefore 'freeing up' your regular Life Insurance at claim time.
Unlike mortgage insurance obtained from the bank, mortgage insurance from Industrial Alliance allows you to own the policy and designate your choice of beneficiaries, plus you have the option of whether you would like your premiums to decrease with the amoritization schedule of your mortgage payments or remain fixed over the term so that should you make a claim the balance could be paid and additional funds credited to your appointed beneficiary.
Who Needs Mortgage Insurance?
Anyone who has a mortgage payment for their home needs mortgage insurance.
How Much Does It Cost?
Mortgage Insurance is not usually expensive, affordable monthly premiums can be arranged to come out of your bank account at whichever date desired.
